All About Me
|
.
My name is Jorri and I am 10 years old. I wanted to tell you a little about myself before you surf my website. For starters, I am a 4th grade student at Kenwood Elementary. I love to read, ride my bike and most of all Cheerleading.
Before I began cheerleading I use to dance and do gymnastics. I took dance for 2 years and I did gymnastics about the same amount of time before I broke my arm. I stopped doing gymnastics for about 6 months. When I came back I decided not to do gymnastics, mainly because I was scared to do the bars and the beam. So, my coach suggested I do cheerleading and I've been cheering every since.
This year I've also taken up soccer and basketball. I love playing both sports and hope to be good at them one day. I also hope to play tennis again. I took lessons for one year and LOVED it.
*My coach at the time was Barbara Clintsman who's since passed. R.I.P. Coach Barb your instruction has led me to have great gymnastic abilities. Without your help I wouldn't be where I am today!!

My first Year Performing 2001-2002
|
My first cheer experience was with the Panther All-Stars. We started with only 5 girls as a show team. We opened up for our Junior Squad at Cheer Power Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. That was April 2001. After our performance which was a 45 second routine, we received a standing ovation. We were coached by Mirjia Mcgee.
After our cheerleading debut we had try-outs that May. At that time we had 3 additional girls come on the team. We went to several competitions that year to include America's Best in Dallas. We placed last at every competition including one 16th place finish at Athletics Championship in Chattanooga. We never lost site of winning. We trained long and hard. It soon paid-off though. Our very last competition of the year we went to Cheer Power in Columbus, Ohio where we won our very first competition. There are 2 ironies to us competiting at Cheer Power. One was that was the very competition that the Pee-Wee Panther All-stars first competed. Secondly that was also be a National Competition and we won first place. We were coached by Coaches Renesha Kierstedt and Tiffany Ogle

My Second Year
|
Our teams were much better the second year compared to the first. Our Pee-Wee squad tripled in size and finally became competitive. We also had a Junior team on which I also competed. We ended our year with 5 top 3 finishes, 1 top 10, and a National Championship with our Pee-wees.
Cheering for the Juniors was awesome. We finished our year with 9 first place finishes which included 3 National Championships and a 3rd place finish at Athletics Championship in Chattanooga. The Junior team is still going strong.
In addition to cheering with the Pee-Wee's and Juniors I also competed with our Mini squad. The age group was 2nd grade and under. Besides winning with my Junior team cheering with the Mini squad was the highlight of my year. I loved competitng with the mini's.

I cheered with the Panthers for 2 years but, now I cheer with the United Gators. I am much more challenged with my new squad but I really miss my Panther friends. I love cheering with the Gators.

2004-Present

I'm now w/ the PrimeTyme All-Stars. PrimeTyme is a break off gym from the United Gators. We're now under new management, ownership, and a new name. We have a brand new gym too.
